BELLA SUCKSUCKSUCKSUCKSUCK t-.-tEdward does love her, and Bella loves Edward. I don't doubt that. They are good together. They are a good couple. The problem is that their being together is completely selfish. It robs her of her parents... it robs her of a chance to have children, which seems to be important to most people... it robs her of the chance to grow old... it robs her of the chance to die (we'll all want to die eventually, once we've lived our lives)... it robs her the chance to be *normal*... it will cause her to lose her friends... it's just not good. It affects everyone around them (other than the Cullens) negatively, which is why I say it's selfish. And living forever is really a horrible fate, when you think about it. Being a vampire is not a happy way to live... everyone you know dies after awhile, but you just keep on living, forced to drink blood to function. Forced to move about constantly, and to stay in hiding half the time. As Rosalie says, it's not a happy fate.Love is an important part of life, don't get me wrong. But there are other important things in life that you should experience as well. And Edward just can't give her those experiences, because he's a vampire. Bella says she doesn't want those experiences, but think about it... she's 18. She's in love, and she knows she wants to be with Edward, but how does she know what she'll want 10 years later? Twenty? Fifty? Your needs and desires change over time. Even if she's with Edward, who's to say she won't end up regretting it like Rosalie does? Who's to say she'll *like* being a vampire? She obviously has doubts about it in Eclipse, even though she puts on a brave face at the end. It seems like she's not 100% positive that it's what she wants for *sure*. And a choice like that cannot be reversed... if she becomes a vampire, she's one permanently. So if she ended up regretting it, it would really suck for her.Jake doesn't take anything from her... if she's with him, she gets to retain her family, her friends, her life, the ability to die, and the human experiences she might end up wanting. She would feel pain for Edward like she did in New Moon, but she'd start to heal, just as she did in New Moon.She loves Edward more, but she's *happy* with both of them. She loves both of them. She needs both of them in her life. She cares for both of them. It's just that she loves Edward *more*. But the way I see it, she's making the wrong choice... life would be better off with Jake. He is the better option. And part of Edward wants Bella to have that life... he wants her to stay human. He insists on putting off the day of her transformation as long as possible. Part of him doesn't *want* her to be a vampire, because he knows there is so much more to life than he can offer her.And think about it. Jacob and Bella are soulmates. NOT Edward and Bella; JACOB and Bella. It says so right in Eclipse... Bella says Jake is her soulmate in our world. She knows they were meant for each other. She says Edward "overshadows" her soulmate, because vampire are "out of our world". And Jake says that he was the path her "natural life" would have taken. They *know* they could and would have been happy together. They know their relationship could and would have been amazing. It could work about between them.I mean it's like Jake says in the end of Eclipse... he knows that Bella can't live without Edward. But he says that Edward is like an "addiction" to her, whereas he's the "sun". He says he's "healthier" for her. And he's right. Jacob is healthier. It would be easier with him. She'd have the life she was *supposed* to have, which was taken away because Edward came into the picture.It's just that she loves Edward more... she loves him enough to give up her soulmate. To give up her parents. Her friends. Any possible children. Her shot at a human life. To give up *everything*, basically.
